What’s It Like Getting Married at Ashton Lodge Country House?
Ashton Lodge Country House feels like a private retreat in the Warwickshire countryside. It’s elegant without being overdone, just full of charm and character.
There’s so much space both inside and out. The reception room is really spacious and well-lit, which makes it ideal for natural, documentary-style photos. The ceremony room also has lovely light throughout the day. Outdoors, there’s a big lawn, a swing hanging from a tree, shaded areas for portraits, and even a hidden path near the willow trees where you might spot some alpacas!
It’s also run by a brilliant team. The staff always go above and beyond, the food is seriously good, and the whole day just flows smoothly. As a photographer, that makes such a big difference.
Danielle & Ben’s Wedding at Ashton Lodge
I photographed Dannii and Ben’s wedding here in July. It was a hot, sunny day (which can be tricky when you’re going from indoors to outdoors all the time!), but we made great use of the light.
Their day was packed with energy and fun from the very start. Dannii, who does CrossFit, even got a quick pump in with the bridal party before putting on her dress, which made for some fun and totally unique photos! Later in the evening, she and Ben brought the house down with a choreographed first dance.
Some standout moments from their wedding:
- Axe throwing in the garden (which guests loved)
- Fun bridal party shots with Japanese umbrellas
- Sunset portraits on the lawn
- Photos on the swing and a quick wander through the shaded woodland to find the alpacas
- A few hilarious poses on the tractor, just for fun

My Approach to Weddings at Ashton Lodge
I shoot in a candid, relaxed style. Most of the day, I’m in the background capturing the real, natural moments—your guests laughing, the hugs, the happy tears, the little things you might miss in the moment.
When it comes to portraits, I’ll offer light direction to help you feel comfortable (nothing forced or awkward), and we’ll start with natural poses you can move and laugh within. I love working with natural light, especially during golden hour, but when the dancefloor kicks off, I’m ready for those low-light, high-energy shots too.
Why Book a Photographer Who Knows Ashton Lodge?
I’m based locally and know Ashton Lodge Country House really well. I know exactly how the light moves throughout the day, where to find shade when it’s bright, and which spots look amazing for portraits at golden hour.
That experience means I can help you plan the flow of your photos without stress—and make sure you get the best images without it taking over your day.
